Praying Together Every Sunday
Join us for a powerful time of prayer each week! Our vision and mission are impossible in our own strength. Each Sunday morning, we gather before our heavenly Father's throne to collectively lift our petitions to Him, knowing that He can do all that we ask. Praying together with our brothers and sisters is one of the most crucial and impactful activities we engage in at CCC. We also meet for prayer via Zoom during the week and share both ministry-related and personal prayer requests through our Prayer App. Most prayer requests are thoughtfully prepared in advance by one of the pastors. During Sunday Prayer, members take turns going around the group as each person prays aloud for a particular request. We always begin by praying as a larger group, but at times we break into smaller groups. You are welcome to participate by praying silently.
Praying for Global Missions & Our Persecuted Family
CCC partners with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention through prayer and financial support. During our Sunday Prayer gatherings, we lift up requests from the IMB's prayer list. Praying together is an impactful way for us to actively and practically participate in the great work God is doing around the world. It also keeps the needs of the nations before our eyes.
God calls us to "remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body." (Hebrews 13:3, ESV) On Sunday mornings, we regularly pray for requests shared on Voice of the Martyrs’ prayer feed. Though their stories are often heartbreaking, it is humbling and inspiring to witness our global family's faithfulness to Jesus amidst unimaginable suffering. We are profoundly privileged to lift them up in prayer.

Praying for Our Local Ministries
We petition God to do mighty works through our ministries at San Jose State University and Planned Parenthood, drawing students to Himself and saving babies from abortion. At times, we also pray bigger prayers, asking God to end abortion or start a great awakening—where countless souls are saved, baptized, added to healthy churches, and sent out to make disciples. Sometimes we pray for specific individuals by name, whether from our local ministry or our personal lives.
The first Sunday Prayer of each month is focused on our efforts to make disciples and help the helpless in San Jose. We pray for everyone we ministered to in the previous month (many of whom we shared in the prayer app) and give thanks to God for His blessings on our gospel ministry.

Praying Through the Bible & Church History
The Scripture passage for Sunday's sermon often inspires prayers of praise, confession, or supplication. We pray in response to God’s Word and seek God's blessing on the preaching and our reception of it. This practice is an excellent way to prepare our hearts for worship.
We also incorporate prayers from church history. Praying historical prayers increases our understanding and appreciation of our Christian heritage, maintains our connection with the past, and cultivates our unity with believers who have gone before us. The prayers of the saints of old can also edify us, encourage us, and teach us how to pray.
