Books & Tracts

Resourcing Our Local Body

We are delighted to offer our members and regular visitors access to resources designed to grow them in the wisdom and knowledge of God, and to equip them to help others grow as well. We are incredibly privileged to benefit from the writings of our brothers and sisters around the world and throughout church history as we pursue our mission in San Jose. Between our church library and Tracts Corner, you’ll find a variety of resources to support your spiritual growth and ministry to non-Christians. If you need recommendations, our pastors are happy to suggest content for your interests. Additionally, if there are specific resources we don't currently provide and you cannot afford them, please let us know. We're committed to helping our members access the materials they need. If you're visiting for the first time, we’d like to welcome you with a couple of free books!

Lloyd-Jones Library

Diverse Selection of Books. CCC’s church library, located on the second floor, is named after the renowned Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, a prominent Welsh Protestant minister and medical doctor known for his influential preaching in the 20th century. The library offers a variety of books from different genres, authors, and historical periods. Since we believe in reading widely and deeply across a broad spectrum of subjects, you may find some books and authors in our library that we do not fully endorse. We encourage members to exercise discernment while reading and to discuss any questions with the pastors. If you have books you would like to donate to the church, please let us know.

A Space to Meet & Read. The Lloyd-Jones Library is a great space for Discipleship Group meetings, getting together with members, or simply finding a quiet place to read and study. It also houses the smaller Bunyan Meeting Room. All members receive a key to the church building, making the library and its resources available at any time.

Resources Available for Checkout. All books in the library and those displayed in the downstairs foyer are available for check-out by members and regular visitors. Please use the check-out binders provided. Resources can be borrowed for up to three months and renewed on a monthly basis. The library also offers a selection of topical pamphlets. If you wish to take or distribute any of these, please inform the pastors so they can ensure the resources are restocked as needed.

Tracts Corner

Free Published Materials for Distribution. Located in the foyer next to the book display, the Tracts Corner is a cabinet stocked with free resources to share with non-Christians. Members and visitors are welcome to take up to 10 tracts at a time and return for more after they have been distributed. The Tracts Corner includes three published gospel resources:

CCC's Printed Materials. Our Tracts Corner also features the QR cards we made for our ministries at San Jose State University and Planned Parenthood:

  • Don’t Watch This - The code scans to a playlist of a powerful testimony video followed by a gospel presentation.
  • Truth & Hope - The code scans to a playlist of an abortion procedures video by Live Action (viewer discretion advised) followed by a gospel presentation.

These cards contain dynamic QR codes, enabling us to tell when the card was scanned and adjust the links in the future, if desired. The literature and video resources in the Tracts Corner are designed to help you effectively engage San Jose with the truth of God’s Word.
