Prayer App

Equipping Members to Faithfully Pray for the Church

We must be devoted to prayer if we want to live as Christ's followers, love our brothers and sisters well, and fulfill our impossible mission. In addition to praying together on Sunday mornings and during the week, we encourage members to engage in personal prayer for our church. We use the Echo prayer app to help members know what to pray for. In the app, we maintain a feed for ministry-related prayer requests and a group where members can share their own prayer requests. Echo sends push notifications to your phone or email to keep you promptly informed about the body's prayer needs.

A Prayer Request Feed for our Ministries

Even if you can’t join us in-person for our ministries at San Jose State University and Planned Parenthood, everyone can and should participate through prayer! Before our ministry efforts, we prepare by sending out prayer requests. After the outings, we share another request with specific prayer needs for the people we encountered or the situations we faced. We encourage members to pray for the requests they receive throughout the week, even if brief. Setting aside time to review and faithfully pray for previous requests is also a good habit. If we want to see God bear fruit from our labors, we need as many people fervently praying as possible.

A Prayer Request Group for our Members

We have a group in the app for members to post personal prayer requests. Each member can create a post under their name and enter as many requests as they’d like in the description. These requests can be updated or added to at any time. Members might share requests for specific challenges in their lives, desires for spiritual growth, or people they hope to see come to faith. We encourage members to share opportunities they have to discuss the gospel with non-Christians so that the church can be encouraged and faithfully pray for those interactions as a body. Time-sensitive requests can also be posted to ensure everyone receives immediate notifications. After praying for a request, you can notify other members through Echo that you have prayed for them. It’s beneficial to regularly pray through the requests of your brothers and sisters.
